    Sri Lanka donates Buddha Statues to Reconstructed Temples in Bangladesh

    A Ceremony to distribute 30“Samadhi Buddha Statues” to reconstructed and renovated Temples in Ramu, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh was held at the Sima Vihar Ramu, Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh on 08th April 2015. The Buddha Statues were handed over to Most Ven. Shatiyapriya Mahanayake Thero of the Sima Vihar Ramu, Cox’s Bazar by A.G. Abeysekara, Actg. High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Bangladesh.

    The Statues were imported from Sri Lanka, by utilization of a SLRS 1.7 Million donation made by the Most Venerable Maha Nayake Theros of Malwatta and Asgiriya Maha Nayake Viharas in Kandy, the Governor of the Central Province andwell-wishers from Sri Lanka for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the temples in the Ramu and Chittagong areas.

    The 30 Fiber Glass Buddha Statues had been built by the Ven. B. Sanghamitra, a Bangladeshi Bikkhu living in Mt. Lavinia, Sri Lanka.
