    71st India's Independence to be celebrated in Sri Lanka with singing icon Usha Uthup

    The High Commission of India in Colombo will present 'Symphony of Freedom' by legendary Bollywood playback singer Usha Uthup to celebrate 71st anniversary of India's independence and as a part of India and Sri Lanka @70 celebrations.

    The live music concert by Usha Uthup and the ensemble will be held at 6.45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Convention Hall. Over a span of 50 years Mrs Usha Uthup has sung hundreds of popular film songs in almost all Indian languages spreading the message of love, unity and peace. She has been awarded with the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards of India.

    This event is being organized with the support of Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs, Government of Sri Lanka, Lanka Ashok Leyland, BMICH, Indigo airlines, Taj Samudra and India Sri Lanka Foundation. This is an event not to be missed. Admission to the event is free and by invitation only.
