The Esala Festival which began last Sunday with the Kap-planting ceremony at Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama and Paththini Devala at the auspicious time of 8.00am, will be held throughout this week.

After the Kap ceremony on July 27, the perahera was held within the devalayas till July 31. The first Kumbal Perahera (Kumbal procession) was held on Friday and today it will parade the streets for the 3rd day.  The Kumbal Perahera.will continue till Tuesday. (ST/KH)
