    April 27, 2016

Sri Lanka's cricket board cleared the Test batsman Kaushal Silva to resume training after he was hit on the head with a ball during practice on Sunday (April 24).

Sri Lanka Cricket in a media release said it is happy to announce that batsman Kaushal Silva has been discharged from hospital in Colombo having been issued a clean bill of health by medical experts.

Specialists attending to him have confirmed that he suffered 'a mild concussion' and has now been completely cleared to resume physical activity after being kept under strict observation for the past 36 hours.

Silva was airlifted to Colombo on Sunday (24) after being hit on the head by a ball whilst fielding at short leg during a practice match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, where the Sri Lanka team was in a residential practice and training camp in preparation for their tour to England.

Silva will be completely rested for a further two days, and will gradually restart training with mild gym and ground activity, and is expected to resume batting practice by early next week, the SLC said.
