The Chief Guest of the ceremony will be Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka Chamal Rajapaksa while the Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage will be the Guest of Honour.

This will be the biggest international badminton tournament ever held in Sri Lanka.

A total of 254 players  will be taking part in Men's Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles.
