Captain Aruni De Silva of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police who won the "Ranaviru Real Star" (RRS) Mission IV received a new house from the President Maithripala Sirisena at a function held at Pothuarawa in Malabe yesterday evening (7th Thursday, May 2015). Up on arrival at the venue the President was received by the State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene. The new house valued at Rs. 20 million was presented to Captain Silva for winning the Ranaviru Real Star (RRS) Mission IV reality programme. Ranaviru Real Star is the only reality programme that provides a platform to showcase the hidden vocal talents of military personnel. Delivering the welcome speech Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Mr. BMUD Basnayake highlighted the importance of the programme in bringing out the hidden musical talents of the war heroes. He also thanked all those involved in producing the show. The deed of the house was also officially handed over to the winner by President Sirisena during the occasion. The finalists of Ranaviru Real Star Mission IV entertained those present with their musical talents during the ceremony. Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the MOD Mrs. S Basnayake, Chief of Defence Staff General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal KA Gunatilleke, Distinguished guests, senior military officers, officials of Dialog Axiata PLC and a large gathering were present at the occasion.
