The International Summit on Climate Change, Adaptation is being held under the aegis of the Western Provincial Council of Sri Lanka.The summit will continue until September 09.

The phenomenon we call climate change is an ineluctable reality. Each country is under compulsion to develop appropriate policies, strategies and practices to combat the dreadful impacts of climate change, said Mr. Joan Franca, Specialist for International Relations and Sustainability (Rio de Janeiro) addressing the Summit.

“Sri Lanka cannot escape or evade the challenge”, he added.
