It was a meeting organized for District Secretaries. The meeting deliberated on the issues prevailing in the respective Districts and programmes which are operative. Also present on the occasion were Ministers Kabir Hashim, Ravi Karunanayake, Joseph Michael Perera and Deputy Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva.

The Prime Minister said that priority would be given as to how the village roads should be built and build the village economy.

He stressed that more funds should be spent on education and health. He added that these were two main sections that are paralyzed in many parts of the country.
