    Communities working together is foundation for reconciliation - President Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena says people of all communities in the country working together is the best foundation for reconciliation between the communities.

    The President further said that the development goals of the country could not be achieved only through developing physical resources. Citizens with high moral qualities and discipline is an essential factor for the development of a country.

     

    He made these observations while participating at the 75th anniversary celebration of the St. Anthony's Balika Maha Vidyalaya in Kollupitiya today (12).

     

    Since the time the St. Anthony's Balika Maha Vidyalaya established in Kollupitiya 75 years ago, the City of Colombo and, Sri Lanka as a country as well as other countries in the world have achieved a revolutionary developments and transformation in science and technology, President Sirisena said. However, we have to think if the disciplines and morality of the people have developed at the same speed as science and technology growth in the world, he said.

     

    The President received a rousing and warm welcome at the event and he joined the staff and the students to share their joy on the occasion the school commemorated its 75th anniversary.
