    19A will establish democracy and good governance - Sampanthan

    TNA Leader R. Sampanthan speaking at the debate on the 19th Amendment to the Constitution held today in Parliament said that passing of 19th Amendment to the Constitution  will pave the way to establish democracy and good governance.

     
    He said it was a positive development that the country now has a President who is willing to relinquish his powers. He also expressed his appreciation over to ability to implement law against Parliamentarians who cross over from one party to another disregarding parliamentary procedures. He said this would protect and safeguard the supremacy of the Parliament.  
     
     
    It is expected that this will establish independence of the judiciary Commission, Police Commission,  Election Commission,  Audit Commission, Public Service Commission etc. reiterated the Minister.
