During the bilateral talks the Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven had on the sidelines of the forum, the Swedish Premier congratulated President Sirisena for his significant victory at the recent presidential election. He also praised the new government for the measures taken to strengthen good governance.

The Swedish Premier further said that he will take measures to direct more Swedish tourists to visit Sri Lanka. He also agreed to extend support for the irrigational sector in Sri Lanka.
