He made these remarks participating at the Eastern Province Coordinating Committee Meeting held at the Trincomalee District Secretariat on Tuesday (03) evening. This was his first visit to the Eastern Province after assuming the office. He was warmly received by the Governor of the Eastern Province Austin Fernando and Chief Minister Nazeer Ahamed.
The President re-affirmed the government's commitment to ensure each individual in the country to live in harmony enjoying equal rights. Accordingly, he pointed out that all should be committed to build such an environment in the country.
People's Representatives of all political parties in the Eastern Province, Government officials, Minister D.M.Swaminathan and TNA Parliamentarian R.Sambanthan were present.
