The rally was organized at the Vernon Fernando grounds in Kalutara to consolidate the victory of the United People’s Freedom Alliance at the Provincial Council polls in the Western and the Southern Provinces.

.Several key ministers also addressed the meeting.

The President further said that the entire nation who has already gathered round the Government will give their mandate with a clear message that the country will not be betrayed to foreigners on the 29th of this month. He added that those who are unable to win the hearts of the people through their political propaganda are attempting to achieve political mileage carrying tales to the world with the expectation that they would hand over the power of the country to them,

The President when he arrived in the Kalutara District received a warm welcome from the people who were displaying his photograph, banners with greetings and also waving the national flag.
