Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena unveiled the Avalokitheswara Bodhisathwa Statue Sunday (15) afternoon which was placed at the premises of the Srilankan High Commission for India.
The Avalokitheswara Bodhisathwa Statue which belonges to 08th century BC was found at Veragala in Anuradhapura. This is a gold plated bronze statue and its feet situated in Lalithasana and Rjaleelasana postures. Bataeeya Craft Training school in Pasyala managed by the Central Cultural Fund made this replica of the Bodhisathwa Statue which was donated to Srilankan High Commission for India.
