    President Felicitates Long Serving Members of Mediation Boards Featured

    President Mahinda Rajapaksa said that an unstable country will never be able to march towards development.i Therefore, it is the responsibility of every citizen to unite and carry forward the hard won peace and stability built up in the country without being deceived by false propaganda. The President emphasised that western forces are trying to destabilize the country by bringing into power leaders without any authority.

    The President was addressing a ceremony held at Temple Trees on Monday (Dec.01) to felicitate Members of Mediation Boards.

     

    President Rajapaksa further pointed out the importance of safeguarding the future of the children through implementation of laws connected to the local culture in dissolving conflicts including family disputes. He said for the sake of the future of the younger generation, the western countries should not be given the opportunity to inculcate their cultural traits to the local culture.


    Minister Rauff Hakeem said that Mediation boards are functioning successfully with the cooperation of his Ministry.

    Secretary to the Ministry of Justice Kamalini De Silva, Chairman of the Conciliation Board Commission and retired Supreme Court Judge Hector S. Yapa were also present at this occasion.
