His Excellency Hisham Abu Taha, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Sri Lanka, met with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday (10) at the Presidential Secretariat. During the meeting, Ambassador Abu Taha extended his congratulations to President Dissanayake on his recent election victory, conveying best wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Palestine.
The Palestinian Ambassador expressed deep appreciation for Sri Lanka’s longstanding support for Palestine and its position on key international issues. He emphasized that Palestine looks forward to Sri Lanka’s continued friendship and solidarity in the future.
Ambassador Abu Taha also raised the issue of visa obstacles faced by Palestinians, urging President Dissanayake to take steps to ease these restrictions in order to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two nations.
The meeting underscored the strong relationship between Sri Lanka and Palestine, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation.
