The museum one of the large-scale development projects launched recently and provides the ideal platform to study technologies used by ancient Sri Lankans and library was declared open by President Sirisena. A cultural pageant with many colourful events was organized to mark the opening ceremony.
Addressing the gathering President further said that this new technology museum was constructed with the objective of educating children of the entire country of our proud history and heritage.
Many of the well advanced countries do not possess a proud and rich history like ours said the President while adding our ancestors well ahead of theirs.
When the horizons of the educational sector expand with the ever-evolving technology, this museum will be helpful in combining our indigenous technical know-how with the modern practices, he added.
A number of governors, ministers, academics and distinguished guests, Director of the Department of National Museum Ms. Sanuja Kasthuriarachchi, Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Kumarasiri Sirisena and Commissioner General of Archeology were among the gathering.
