This musical hermitage is being built in a land extent of 120 perches that belongs to the Housing Development Authority near the Ape Gama in Battaramulla at a cost of Rs.200 million. The Asapuwa is comprises of a library, documentation room, conference hall, auditorium and an open air theatre.
Pandith Amaradewa was renowned as the greatest musician of the nation earning the respect and the love of the people of the country and this hermitage will be built memorizing his contribution towards the Sri Lankan musical industry and to conserve his musical work and his traditions of music for the future generation.Professor Sunil Ariyarathne, Secretary of Ministry of Mass Media Sunil Samaraweera, Wimala Amaradewa, Ranjan Amaradewa and others were present in this event.
