The minister responding on behalf of the Minister of Indigenous Medicine to a question raised by UNP Kurunegala district MP Ashok Abeysinghe said that 2,192 doctors registered at the Ayurvedic Medical Council (AMC) have obtained the degree in Ayurvedic Medicine.

The number of doctors registered at the AMC and obtained the Diploma in Ayurvedic Medicine was 3,651. In addition there were 13,931 traditional Ayurvedic doctors registered at the AMC. The register of the aforesaid doctors had been updated for the year 2013, the minister said. (Special Reporter/HC)
