The Upasampada ceremony which began at the Udakukkepa Seemamalakaya on the Galoya river on July 19 was due to conclude yesterday. The pinkama was held under the patronage of Ven. Ankumbure Pemawansa Maha Thera, Lekhakadhikari of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Nikaya.

The Maha Sangha, led by Ven. Omalpe Sobhitha Thera, Chief Sanghanayake of Dakshina Lanka, chanted seth pirith and invoked blessings on President Sirisena during his visit yesterday. Minister Daya Gamage and Deputy Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna were also present.
