The new stadium of Kandy Municipal Council, built at a cost of Rs. 220mn was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (3rd Dec.).
The stadium provides facilities for badminton, table tennis, netball, volleyball and seating facilities for 2000 audience as well as facilities for seminars and ceremonies. Gymnasium and hostel facilities for athletes also are included in this stadium.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
