The Prime Minister said the political power of the United National Party (UNP) needs to be strengthened with the upcoming Local Government elections, to be held under the new electoral system.

He, participated in an event in Ratmalana last evening, organized by the newly appointed Ratmalana UNP organizer Hirunika Premachandra.

Forty UNP supporters representing the 40 wards of the Ratmalana seat were felicitated by the Prime Minister for their long service.

Finance State Minister Eran Wickremaratne and Parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayake were also present. (CDN)
