    Govt's stand on SAITM in a few days Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena says that the government’s position on the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) will be announced within a few days.

     

    The President said that solutions for all the challenging and difficult situations could be found through dialogues as well as sharing the facts.

     

    He made these remarks participating at a religious ceremony to open the golden fence at the Tibhiripala Sri Abhinawarama Viharaya in Dehiowita on 23rd October.

     

    Division and separation are an obstacle to build a better country, and all should jointly solve issue arise in the country as well as in the development process of the country without any divisions and separation, he said.

     

    The year 2018 has been declared as the year of National Food Production to free the country from poverty, and the president said that recently launched ‘Grama Shakthi’ People’s Movement to free the rural community from the poverty and to strengthen their economic status.

     

    President Sirisena distributed cheques to ten beneficiaries marking the third phase of Seethawaka river gem pilot project.


    A sum of Rs. 14.7 million was also distributed to the Samurdhi beneficiaries, persons with special needs, higher education students as well as for religious places.
