Navesta Pharmaceuticals has invested Rs 1.4 billion for this facility.

The facility will manufacture 50 million vials for the government’s health sector which will help to save a huge amount of money which goes out as foreign exchange to purchase these injections.

The production facility will provide employment opportunities for people with specialist knowledge on drug making and related fields.

The first set of medicine was handed over to President Sirisena by the Company Chairman Sanjaya Jayaratna.

Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratna also participated.
