According to him, at present, the lowest economic progress is experienced by the Northern Province. For the country to experience a growth of six percent or more, developing the economy of the Northern Province is essential.  In the event, the Northern economy collapses, it will badly affect the Southern economy.

To increase the growth rate, it is essential to pay a special attention towards the Northern economy. It cannot be done by the central government alone.  Therefore, the government, provincial councils, and the investors should get together in this regard.  

He said that several discussions were held regarding industrialization, infrastructure development, houses projects, as well as development of tourism, agriculture, and fisheries sectors.

“Solutions should be given for the political as well as land issues prevailing in the North”, he said and added that “the living condition of the people of the North should be developed until a political solution is found.”
