He said that strengthening the harmony among all communities in the country is essential and it is the most important thing among all other problems prevailing in the country.
The President made these remarks yesterday (12th May) in Dickoya addressing the public gathered at Norwood Public Grounds. The meeting was held under the patronage of Visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi subsequent to the opening of the new Hospital in Dickoya. The project was funded by the government of India.
The President said that the government knows that people in the North have many problems, which caused for a 25-year war as well, the people in the upcountry area also have many problems, he added.
According to him, building the national harmony and thus strengthening the reconciliation is a prime objective of the present government. “We are fully dedicated in that regard”, he added.
The foundation stone for the Dickoya District Hospital was laid in 2011 when the President was then the Health Minister. He said that he didn’t expect that he would come to Dickoya to open this hospital as the President now.
He also thanked Prime Minister Modi, people and the government of India for extending support for the project.
