Government of Pakistan donated 10,000 metric tons (MT) of rice to Sri Lanka to assist the people affected by the recent drought.
Maj Gen (R) Syed Shakeel Hussain, Pakistan High Commissioner of Sri Lanka donated this bulk of rice symbolically to President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (7th April).
Sri Lanka received 7,800 metric tons of rice from Pakistan at the initial stage.
