Chief Ministers of Southern, Western, Eastern, and Uva Provinces participated the discussion.

The Prime Minister explained the Chief Ministers that this new Bill is not aimed at bringing Provincial Council subjects under the central government, but to obtain the active participation of PCs for the national development process.

 “The Bill will have no effect on any subject comes under PCs”, PM added.

The Chief Minsters while appreciating the decision to obtain PCs’ support for the national development process, said that they would summit a set of proposals soon after it was discussed with other Chief Ministers.

 The Premier in response said that the amendments regarding this Bill can be submitted to the Parliament during the Committee Stage Debate.
