Representatives from 40 countries as well as 12 international organizations and experts on maritime security are taking part in this Conference under the theme “Fostering Strategic Maritime Partnerships”.

The purpose of this conference is to provide a common platform for stakeholders of national and international repute to discuss and deliberate maritime related issues. Moreover, it will specifically enhance the cooperation of maritime security and sharing of knowledge and information amongst them.

Sri Lanka Navy organizes this annual event with the aim of strengthening the regional maritime cooperation and formulating a global strategy to face common challenges in the maritime domain.

Ministers Mangala Samaraweera, Ravi Karunanayake, Arjuna Ranatunga, State Minister, Ruwan Wijewardene, Deputy Minister Harsha de Silva, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunathilaka, Navy commander Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunawardena, foreign chiefs of the naval staffs from various countries and many others participated at this event.
