The Rakiyabhishekaya 2016, the national education and career-guide programme inaugurated under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Nelum Pokuna yesterday (Nov. 25).
The National Youth Development Bureau and the Independent Television Network (ITN) jointly organized this event with the aim of providing education and higher education information and job opportunities for our young generation. The Programme will be held on 25th, 26th and 27th November at the premises of the Nelum Pokuna.
The President also launched the national jobs website at this occasion.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
