The President who arrived at the Temple offered flowers to the Vihara Mandiraya and engaged in religious observances. Later he unveiled the plaque at the newly 'Sangawasaya'.

President Sirisena also unveiled a portrait of the late Most Ven. Naranvita Saranatissa Thero, the founder of the Dharmayathana Temple.

During the ceremony, the President presented the Pooja Bhumi title-deed of the Temple to the Nayaka Thero.

Appointment letters were also handed over to the community leaders under the Drug Prevention National Program.
