    50 Industrial Zones to address the unemployment of youth – PM Featured

    Government’s intention is to establish 50 Industrial Zones from Kandy to Colombo, Hambantota, and Wellawaya and thereby address the unemployment faced by the young generation, according to the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.


    He was addressing the United National Party’s membership promotion drive in Malwana, Biyagama on Sunday (4th Sept).


    Accordingly, the government will start industries in Kandy, Mawatagama, Kuliyapitiya, Mirigama, Divulapitiya, Horana, Awissawella, and Matara areas as pledged by the good governance government.


    Addressing further, the leader of the UNP, Prime Minister Wickremesinghe added that they had a responsibility to create a better future for the young generation of the country. He also assured to increase the employees’ salary during next five, six years.


    “First, we should create people those who like to go forward. Next Tuesday (6th Sept.) will be the anniversary of those who are willing to go forward. Late D.S. Senanayake formed this Party and today we have protected it as it was”, he said, and invited the youth to join with UNP to go forward.


    An innovative program has been introduced by the UNP to popularize the party among the youth within two years.
