    August 29, 2016

The government will promote tourism in the Uva province and will have flights from Mattala Airport to Uva said Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. Prime Minister made these comments at a UNP membership drive.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said that the government is planning to attract one million tourists through Mattala to the country while Minister Ranjith Madduma Bandara is looking for land to build a golf course.

Our aim is to fill the Hambantota port with ships. We are also planning to build a boat yard too.  The government will  build a power plant to supply power to the factories which will come up while a refinery, cement plant and hotels will also built.

The government will develop the East too so that tourists can visit the East as well as Uva without visiting Colombo. We will also introduce export agriculture to these areas.

The youth should be trained to work in factories and Minister Sagala Ratnayaka informed me that training centers will be established in Uva, South and Ratnapura to train the youth, said Prime Minister Wickremesinghe.
