President Maithripala Sirsena inaugurated the island-wide program to develop 3,100 kilometers of rural roads yesterday (31st July) from Lankapura Divisional Secretariat in Polonnaruwa.
Under the program, 170 kilometers in Polonnaruwa District will be rehabilitated with a cost of Rs.3, 890 million.
Minister Lakshman Kiriella, State Minister Dilan Perera, Sidney Jayarathne MP, and Nalaka Kolonne MP were also present.
President Sirisena also engaged in an observation visit to look into the progress of the development projects implemented under the “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” project.
