Right to Information (RTI) bill is a blessing for the journey that strengthens the democracy, according to Minister of Petroleum Resources Development Chandima Weerakkodi.
Addressing the Parliament yesterday (23rd June) on the second reading of the RTI bill he said: “Sri Lanka is the first, who had the first female Prime Minister in the world but, today we are a late to pass this bill”, he said.
According to Minister, the two main political parties works together with one goal to move the bill, which is essential to actively implement democracy and the good governance.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
