President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (21st April) took part in the “Sadaham Yathraa”, one the series of Poya Day religious programs held to mark the Bak Full Moon Poya at the Sri Shailayarama temple in Poddala, Galle.
The program was conducted by Ven.Welivitiye Wimalasara thero, the Principal of the Sri Amarawansha Piriven in Baddegama.
The incumbent of the Shailayaarama temple Ven. Keembiye Gnanarathana thero presented a memento to the President. Parallel to the religious Program, side-events such as releasing cows from slaughterhouse were also held.
Minister Gayantha Karunathilake, Wajira Abeywardhene, Chandima Weerakkodi were also present.
