President Maithripala Sirisena held a special discussion to look into the development activities of the Aranya Senasanaya including the construction works of the Piriven Dharmshala building.

The Maha Sangha including the Ven. Tirikunamale Ananda Anunayaka thero, Polonnaruwa Divisional Secretary and state officials participated in this meeting.

The officials were advised by the President to commence the future development plans of the Aranya Senasanaya by next May and to give highest priority in this regard.

As well the National Water Supply and Drainage Board was also instructed to submit a comprehensive plan on upgrading of drinking water facilities at the temple as soon as possible.

Under the “Pibidemu Polonnaruwa” (Awakening of Polonnaruwa) District Development Project over 300 temples in the district are planned to develop including the Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya.

The institutions which are sponsoring for the development activities of the Dimbulagala Aranya Senasanaya, presented their sponsorship cheques during the meeting.
