A Buddhist Advisory Committee to guide and advice the government on Buddhist affairs was established at temple trees under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapakse on Wednesday (18).
The Buddhist Advisory Committee comprises representatives including Anunayake Theras appointed on the advice of the Chief Prelates of the main Nikayas in the country.
Maha Nayaka Theras from different chapters including Asgiri, Malwathu and Kotte as well as Prime Minister D.M.Jayarathna, Secretary to the Ministry of Buddha Sasana Ministry M.K.B.Dissanayake were present at the occasion.(KH/SI)
