    National Construction Awards Ceremony 2015 concludes Featured

    The National Construction Awards Ceremony-2015 was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the BMICH today (23).

    The President presented awards for Civil Engineering projects, Green Construction Excellence Award and Excellence & Merit awards for Building projects.

     

    Addressing the gathering, Minister of Housing and Construction-Sajith Premadasa stated that the new government will create a golden era for the construction industry and it will not only limit to words.

     

    The Annual National Awards for construction Excellence symbolizes its commitment to promote quality and professionalism in the construction industry in Sri Lanka.

     

    The director of the National Construction Development  Authority presented the Annual report and a recommendation report on alternative resources for soil to the President in the event.

     

    Minister of Housing and Construction-Sajith Premadasa, Deputy Minister – Indika Bandaranayake, Construction Industry Development Authority Chairman C.H.D. Thisera and others participated on this occasion.

     

    The Awards Ceremony  of the ‘National Taekwon-Do Championship – 2015’  was also held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the Musaeus College Auditorium in Colombo, today (23).

     

    The President presented  awards to the Sri Lanka ArmyTaekwon-Do team who crowned National Taekwon-Do Championship and for the Sri Lanka Air ForceTaekwon-Do team for winning the all-round runner up of the Championship.

     

    The World Taekwon-Do Association in recognition of the enduring effort by President Maithripala Sirisena to create a drug-free Sri Lanka and healthy citizens  presented the President with an “Honorary rank of 9th degree black belt award”.

     

    At the event the members of the Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Taekwon-Do Federation posed for a group photo with the President.

     

    Minister of Sports- Dayasiri Jayasekara, President of the  National Taekwondo Federation- Harshana Rajakaruna MP, President of the World Taekwondo Federation- Dr Un Yong Kim and many others participated on this occasion.
