The Government is carrying out discussions to release more civilian land held by the military in the North, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe told Parliament today.
He said that President Maithripala Sirisena will have discussions in this regard with the relevant officials.
He further said that special attention has been paid to North and East provincial Secretariat Divisions in the country’s economic programmes. It is being discussed to release lands to North civilians, especially to Jaffna people, he added.
