Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe isaid MPs behavior is as important as providing them with facilities to strengthen the Parliamentary process. He said all party leaders should ensure that the MPs from their respective political parties respect Parliament He emphasised that disciplinary action should be taken against any Member of Parliament who misbhaves in Parliamenti rrespective of the party he represents.
"In the Parliament 75 rooms are available for Ministers but we have to find space for additional 150 MPs to establish their Offices to meet the public and also for the Committee Members to easily engage in their duties . Also MPs need offices in their districts and this too will be considered," PM said. PM Wickremasinghe further requested the Party Leaders to discuss this matter and convey a final decision to the house, so that he could obtain them the Cabinet approval.
