President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to deposit sacred relics commencing the work on the Sandahiru Seya (Triumphant Stupa) at Anuradhapura on Thursday (12).
The Sandahiru Seya is being constructed to commemorate war heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of motherland. It is being built with the labor of the three armed forces and civil defense force. The chaitya is estimated to be of 285 feet in height and 255 in its diameter. (Special Reporter/SI)
