The Minister made these observations participating in the debate of the second reading of budget 2016 on Tuesday (Dec.01).

He pointed out that the government's aim is to strengthen the economy through international trade and said that Sri Lanka will get the GSP+ facility shortly opening the EU market for Sri Lankan products.

The Minister further said, "Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe does not take popular decisions. He always stood by his principals. He thinks about the future and takes strong decisions".
