The Speaker invited the Leader of the House to give an explanation with regard to distribution of two books of the Budget Proposal.

 

 

The Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella said that only one budget speech is delivered in the House and all points are included in that.  He said, "We are debating the budget speech made on Nov.20.  The Budget Speech was printed in all three languages, English, Sinhala and Tamil.  But due to a technical fault three pages were missing in the Sinhala version.  This has been corrected today by distributing another book amalgamating the three pages to the sinhala version, he said.

 

 

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake apologising for the lapse further said that 3 pages were missing in the Sinhala version and the book distributed today is a fully completed copy of the Budget Proposal.
