    President to Leave for Thailand

    President Maithripala Sirisena will leave for Thailand today (Nov. 01) for a four day state visit.

    Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha invited President Sirisena to participate in the ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relationship between Sri Lanka and Thailand.

     

    During this visit, the President will hold discussions with Princess of Thailand and the Prime Minister of Thailand. The discussions will focus on strengthening of Buddhist relationships between the two countries.

     

    President Sirisena will also declare open the exposition of Sarvagna Dhathu from Mahiyangana Rajamaha Viharaya, in Buddhamanthan Temple in Thailand on November 03.

     

    A ceremony to place special Samadhi Buddha Statue offered from Sri Lanka to Thailand, in Dharmarama Temple in Thailand will be held under the patronage of President Sirisena.
