The Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake Wednesday (21) tabled 17 Orders under the Special Commodity Levy Act for the approval of the Parliament.
Minister Karunanayake tabling the orders said, "today all countries are engaged in a cordial and friendly relationship with Sri Lanka. We cannot go on imposing taxes to safeguard the national economy. We will introduce a new programme going beyond the present system of imposing taxes".
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
