The proposed parliamentary program for the annual budget was submitted by the acting Minister of Finance, Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday (14) and the cabinet has approved it.

Accordingly, the First Reading of the Appropriation Bill will take place on Friday, October 23.

Minister of Finance Ravi Karunanayake will deliver the budget speech on November 20th in Parliament.

The debate on the second reading of the Budget will commence following the Minister's speech and will continue for 14 days till December 08 at which time the Second Reading Division will be taken.

The Committee Stage Debate will continue for 12 allotted days until December 22 and third and final Reading Division will be taken on December 22.
