He made this observation participating in ceremony to declare open the new seven- storeyward complex at the Kandy General Hospital, yesterday (15).

The President said that as a Government what they can do is to provide required physical and human resources as well as to take steps to implement the necessary policies. He further said that the Government will give its fullest support in this regard.

President Sirisena appreciate the officers in the health service, including the doctors and nurses, for their commitment towards to improve people’s health and he assured to provide facilities for them to carry out their duties in the future too.

By now, the government has spent520 millionrupees for the construction and buying equipment for this hospital, which aims at providing free health service.

Most Ven. Niyangoda Vijitha Siri Anunayaka Thero of MalwattaChapter, Ministers Ranjith Senarathna, Lakshman Kiriella,S.B. Dissanayake, Chief Minister of the Central Province- Sarath Ekanayake , Mahendra Ratwatte- Mayor of Kandy , Surangani Ellawala -Governor of the Central Province, Dr.Palitha Mahipala and others participated in the event.
