    Govt to start a program to build economy of law income families – President Featured

    President Maithripala Sirisena says the new government would start a new program when eliminating of the poverty and building of the economy of the law income families.

    He added he would not let politicians to exploit the benefits of the innocent people in this country. He further stated a program will be implemented to invest every cent which the government allocates for the people, for the welfare of them.

     

    The President made these remarks at the ceremony to offer appointments to 2700 of Public Service Management Assistants at Sugathadasa Stadium yesterday (Oct. 08).

     

    “There are omissions in the welfare methods, being carried out to boost the law income families economically. I will rectify those omissions through the discussions with the Minister” the President said.

     

    “It is the responsibility of the government officials to provide cordial and efficient service to the people who come to seek their services. The new government is dedicated to make the public service in Sri Lanka free of corruption, fraud and waste” the President further stated.

     

    “The program of the new government is to perform the example of refusing of fraud, corruption and waste not from bottom to top, but from top to bottom”, he said.

     

    The appointments for the Public Service Management Assistants were presented today, after three weeks training given to those who passed open competitive exam held for the years of 2014/2015.

     

    In addition, 1061 more officials will be recruited from those who sat for limited competitive exam for Public Service Management. They will get their appointments within this year. Accordingly, 80 per cent of the vacancies for Management Assistants in several ministries and departments will be filled.

     

    President Sirisena symbolically presented the letters of appointments to few job recipients.

     

    Minister of State Administration and Management Mr. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Deputy Minister Mr. Susantha Punchi Nilame and the Secretary to the Ministry Mr. J. Dadallage also participated in this occasion.
