Police Media Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekera said that 63,000 Police Officers have been deployed for election Duty Island wide.
He pointed out that special election duty will commence from Monday (17) morning. 63,000 police officers, more than seven thousand officers of the Civil Defence Force and more than 4,000 officers of the Special Task Force will be deployed for election duty.
He said that officers of the STF will be deployed at counting centres along with the other Police officers.
